Obama Ignores Congress Again to Launch Syria Attack With No Legal Basis

Joseph Paul Watson, Infowars.com, reports that early Tuesday morning President Obama had authorized and ordered to be carried out a massive air attack on ISIS troops in Syria.

The attack force consisted of American fighter jets and armed Predator and Reaper drones, flying alongside warplanes from several Arab allies.  They struck a broad array of targets in territory controlled by the militants, known as the Islamic State. Eight adults and three children were killed.

Obama had no received formal approval for the air attack on Tuesday from Congress,.  This is a requirement of the War Power Act when a military activity is expect to last longer than ninety days and involves crossing a nation’s border to take appropriate action.  It does not require getting authorization from its leadership or even their knowledge of crossing of the border.

In Obama’s address to Americans on September 23rd, he stated that the air attack and other activities would be expected to last a long time. This period of engagement is clearly longer than the ninety day period that is in War Powers Act.

Obama committed a similar action in Libya, where he authorized a air attack without getting formal approval from Congress.  That was approximatly two years ago.

President Obama should be subject to impeachment by Congress for these actions. We will see if the ever happens.
