Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky) spoke before a very large, attentive, lively audience at the Values Voters summit Friday, telling the religious gatherers there that his libertarian-leaning philosophy goes hand-in-hand with social conservative beliefs of the people at the meeting.
Seeking to merge his strong libertarian leanings with the audiences conservative, religious attitudes, Paul said that, “Where there is liberty there is always plenty of space for God”.
Paul, the likely 2016 presidential candidate, sought to convince a socially conservative crowd wary of libertarians that he’s one of them, calling for a “revival” of cultural values.
